Cool with it

"It's okay Gene-O, my parents are cool with it."

In case this doesn't make any sense to you, it's probably because you weren't in my basement the time that Nate said this phrase to my Dad after we got caught drinking.

Funniest thing ever said, especially if you know my Dad, as his response was "Well, I'm not."

I'm surprised Nate did not once again fall victim to the vicious bout of rabbit punches to the stomach and ribs, which coincidentally is another very funny basement story...

The anger in your father's eyes immediately sobered me. I truly believe that was the closest I have ever came to being a homicide victim. Looking back on it now, I realize that all of the "witnesses" probably saved my life. You dad already wasn't in a good mood from going to the emergency room with a blown out knee.

But hey, I was 20 at the time and my parents were cool with it.

to heel? awesome.

and my dad didn't go to the emergency room for a blown out knee. It was even stranger than that.

We thought he was already asleep, and my parents were accepting the fact that we all drank at college, but weren't too stoked about a bunch of people drinking at their house who were under 21. He actually cut his hand open when a spider startled him as he was getting ready for bed. We thought the parents were asleep and proceeded to start up some drinking games. And then an hour or two later, they roll home and come downstairs to let me know they are back, and BOOM...no one is leaving for the night and everyone has to crash there and no more drinking.
