Pictures - Bowling

This weekend in pictures (notice I am not in many. Don't you hate when you take a bunch of pictures, and then look at your camera and you didn't get in any of the pictures?)

First night - Friday - Drink Til you Shit 2006 (Westcoast) kicks off with a pubcrawl that begins at the Hilander Fun Center/Bowling Alley. Great Pizza, Big ol Beers, and wonderful attentive wait staff that allowed us to keep bowling without having to stop much for trips to the lounge.

Dicko Cleans his Ball.
Smoot the Lefty trying to pick up the 9 pin spare.
Nate about to scare Dickos ball into the gutter.

Abby celebrating after the backwards between the legs strike she just picked up with no bumpers (pretty amazing actually).
Nate doing what he does best when he bowls.
A couple pics of the pubcrawl part of the trip. (notice the recurring theme of flipping off, bullshiting, and drinking. I notice that Smoots drink is consistantly empty, while nates is full...)

And I couldn't resist the pic of Lowell admiring the mailbox...

Pictures of the rest of the pubcrawl and Saturday's brewfest to follow, but for now, here is Apul's online brewfest album and a link to the wonderful supplier of cigars at brewfest cascade cigar.

Damn The Man, Sales Are Easy, McMenamin's & Brewfest Pics

So today was the end of my company's fiscal year. And as the new year starts they are now deciding that they are going to monitor your e-mails and what webpages you visit. And I guess using your computer for stuff other than work will not be tolerated. So this next week is going to be extra long for me. I usually finish my work pretty quickly and spend my free time e-mailing or surfing my favorite blogs and hitting up the ol' ESPN.com. That all came to an end today. I mean is it my fault that I know how to use our system and I'm a helluva salesman? Seriously, I could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves. That's how good I am. And plumbing is a pretty easy thing to pick up, I've been doing it for about seven years now and seem to have the hang of it.
I've gotten copies of a couple of photos from my little bro and Apul and thought I would share them.
Here is T.R. getting ready to enjoy a nice porter. It was delish.
Here is a pic of T.R., cousin Matt, me and cousin Kyle getting ready to enjoy our brewery samplers. No my cousin Kyle isn't retarded, he's just being goofy for the pic. If you look close, you'll notice I have a couple of empties in front of me (I was thirsty). Here is an overhead view of the Sampler. You can't beat it for seven bucks. Great way to get Brewfest day started.
Here is a pic of me and Apul at brewfest. I am enjoying a very potent 9% alcohol brew and Apul is enjoying a ginger ale. Just joking, I'm not sure what he's drinking.
I'm sure Erik has a bunch of other pics and I know he has some good ones of Friday night.

Cool

It is cool to know a lot about computers now. It is cool to blog. It is cool to be on myspace and tons of other websites. It is cool to email. It is cool to text message. It is cool to have the latest technology, TVs, cell phones, and I-pods.

All of these statements were untrue at one time, so I ask you, is it cool yet to play video games?

(borrowed from toothpastefordinner)

And another classic.

more sites

I couldn't resist a quick post. I saw a link to the red stripe site, and it just made me thirsty again after this weekend. I want to thank all of you guys for making me feel young again. (you wussy puking bastards)

And a few fun sites.
Smoot was nice enough to download a cool spyware finder to my computer, and after I convinced him not to make my background and home website link to myfirstbigcock.com, he showed me this fun site. toothpaste for dinner

And dicko chimed in with one of his favorite humor sites. break.com

Also, I was told to go to chuck norris facts by Pam . ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. According to the site, these are a few of Chuck's favorites

  • When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for Chuck Norris.
  • There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live.
  • Outer space exists because it's afraid to be on the same planet with Chuck Norris.
  • Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits.
  • Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding.
  • Chuck Norris counted to infinity - twice.
  • When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn’t lifting himself up, he’s pushing the Earth down.
  • Chuck Norris’ hand is the only hand that can beat a Royal Flush.
  • Chuck Norris can lead a horse to water AND make it drink.
  • Chuck Norris doesn’t wear a watch, HE decides what time it is.
  • Chuck Norris gave Mona Lisa that smile.
  • Chuck Norris can slam a revolving door.
  • Chuck Norris doesn't go hunting.... CHUCK NORRIS GOES KILLING

More brewfest

additions to that story.

After nate went home Friday, we stayed up til about 5:00...and I can't remember what the fuck we did for 2 hours. Man, beer is wonderful.

Saturday, Apul drove us (thanks Apul, you rock) and Drink til you Shit, turned into drink til you piss or puke. Lowell won the piss contest, and Smoot won the puke contest, although Dicko came in second when he puked so loud out the side of the car that he woke me up. The hukah bar was awesome, and although the pizza was good, don't eat whatever Smoot ate, because he said he tasted horrible on the way out...

Our car-full also heard the call of the Hooters on the way home. The wings were awesome, as usual, the fries were good, but whoever heard of $12 for a pitcher of domestic outside of Seattle or New York. I guess you have to pay extra or you end up wearing orange shorts that don't cover your ass all the way...

And unfortunately, we were there way later than Nate since he wasn't answering his damn phone. I am very mad I missed the T.R. show. But I did see a buddy make friends with a 60 year old dude, and then watch them both hit on a girl born in 89 (89 ARE YOU FUCKING SHITTING ME? Man, we are old)

Sunday was supposed to be wiffleball, but it rained for about 20 minutes right when we were walking out the door to meet Nate, so that killed that plan. Of course it got sunny for the rest of the day 30 min later, but by then we were eating pizza and being lazy, so that's how that day ended.

And nate is right, I do have a lot of pictures, and will hopefully hook up the camera by tomorrow.

Bar Crawling, T.R., McMenamin's, Brewfest, Short Fuse, Naked Sushi, Hooters

As soon as Smooty ordered the two shots of Jack Daniels, I knew I was in trouble. You see, I hate whiskey. Hate it. Especially as a straight shot.
But then I remembered a little tip Gus gave me at Teabag's wedding last weekend. I sitting there bullshitting with Erik at the reception when he starts telling me about some old guy he was talking too. The guy was drinking whiskey on the rocks and Erik proclaimed that no matter how much he tried straight whiskey, he can never get the hang of it. Well the older guy tells him that right before you take your drink, you should inhale through your nose. Then take your drink and exhale afterwards. Erik said he tried in and it seemed to work.
So as I was raising the Jack to my mouth, I inhaled through my nose and shot it down. As I was exhaling I thought to myself, this ain't too bad. Then my stomach trembled. And it wasn't one of those little trembles. I was scared. I started drinking down my Bud Light and it seemed to do the trick.
We made our way back out to the bowling lanes and started bowling. I finished my first game with something like a 132 (very good for me) and promptly fell apart at the beginning of game 2. My final score was something under seventy. I was feeling no pain at this time and was trying some behind the back and through the leg bullshit. And it wasn't working for me.
The plan before bowling was to hit as many bars as possible before retiring for the evening. Well somehow we got fandangled (great word) into bowling three games. And trying to bowl three games in a timely fashion while consuming more and more alcohol, not such a great plan. We were at the bowling alley a good couple of hours.
We left the Hilander Family Fun Center without playing any lazer tag and headed towards Longview. Our next stop was the Silver Star. And it was dead. We ordered a pitcher of beer or two and somewhere along the line Mrs. G-Dizzle bought me a Vodka Redbull (thanks Abby, you rule!) cause I was beginning to drag ass. As I was finishing my Vodka Redbull the Coach called me and asked where I was. He said he needed to chat with me and it was extremely important. I left and met him and we talked over our gameplan.
I made my return to the Silver Star ready to hit another bar or two. It was approximately midnight at this time. We decided our next stop should be the new bar Kesler's and made our way there. After getting carded on the street before entering (WTF? I thought we were in Longview) we were able to make our way to the bar and wait sixteen fucking minutes to order our beers as we watched ALL of the Bud Lights disappear. My the time I ordered the best possible choice was Rainier. So I snatched up five bottles of Rainier and distributed them to the Guttormsens, Smooty and Dicko.
Interpol just came on over my iTunes and it kicks more ass than Mr. Miyagi (R.I.P.) If you don't have it, you should get it.
We finished our Rainiers and somehow ended up outside. I don't really remember the next half hour or so but 2 AM came around and it was determined that we should make a run for the border. Eighteen dollars of tacos and burritos later we were headed back to the Guttormsen residence. Then Mrs. G-Dizzle decided she needed some Muchas Gracias too. So we went through the drive-thru picking up a couple more burritos. We made our way back to G's and grubbed down on some burritos. I finished a burrito and decided to head home since we were all going to have a long day drinking the next day.
The plan for Saturday was to get my little brother Travis (T.R. for short) drunk. You see T.R. doesn't drink much. The last time I drank with him was on New Year's Eve-Eve (12/30). And he was a trooper drinking whiskey with our step-dad. He made me very proud that night. Well what I didn't know was that T.R. got really really really sick that night and puked from about 2 AM til about 10 AM. And he spent most of New Year's Eve curled up on the couch recovering. So when he agreed to head down to Brewfest I was ecstatic. And since he is getting married in less than a week, we decided to make a mini Bachelor party out of it.
The plan was to stop in Vancouver at a place called Hot-Track that had indoor go-karts. We decided to meet at my place and then head out. T.R. and our cousins Matt and Kyle were going to ride with me. Apul was going to borrow his parents van and take Gus, Smooty, Dicko, Shaun C and our buddy Lowell. Apul and Lowell arrived late to my house due to a communication breakdown and soon realized that Apul had forgotten the third row seating in the van. So they decided to run back to his parent's place and grab the third row seat and then meet us in the Couv.
I figured that since we had a good fifteen to twenty minute head-start we would swing by the Vancouver mall and try to locate a Viking helmet for T.R. One tradition that my group of friends has had is that the bachelor would always were the Viking helmet. I'm not sure if Gus wore it or not but I'm sure that Burck, Bronson and Tosh all wore it. And I was going to be sure that my brother wore it too. The one problem was that it was missing. So we needed a new helmet. And after searching high and low in the mall there was not going to be any Viking helmets on this day.
We were leaving the mall when Gus called me. They were at Hot Tracks and the building was vacant. You would think that when the webpage looks like this you would think that they were open. The place was in fact closed. This fucking sucked. We went there for Burck's bachelor party and had the time of our lives. Well maybe not Williamson but everybody else did. The plan quickly turned into just heading to Brewfest. Matt said he was hungry so I told Gus that we were going to stop and eat and then head to the waterfront for Brewfest.
We couldn't decide between McMenamin's (my choice), or Hooter's (Kyle's choice). Well I was driving so you know were we ended up. We took an outdoor seat at McMenamin's White Eagle hotel and I ordered a Brewery Sampler for everybody. And it was delicious as usual. Kyle didn't care for the seasonal Koelsch so I drank it for him. The Ruby was the bomb as always. After eating and finishing our beers we made our way down towards the waterfront. Finding parking on this day would prove to be a challenge.
We finally just pulled into lot and paid six bucks to park. We walked the three blocks down to the waterfront and took our spot in one of the two entrance lines. Gus called me wondering where the hell I was. I told him we were in line and he said to find them at the entrance of the second tent. After getting carded (not really, the guy just glanced at my ID. It could had a picture of Bill Cosby on the mofo and they would've let me in. I jumped in line to get our beer mugs and some tokens and ordered enough for T.R. and Matt. Kyle was gonna D.D. so he cut himself off. Thanks Kyle for being so cool, cause my plan was to get wasted.
We found the group and they pointed me towards a line were they were serving some beer with 9% alcohol content. It kinda tasted like Arrogant Bastard only a little stronger. It reminded me of the brewery on the San Juan Island that brews Raging Mane, another 9% brew. After that I tried an ale then wandered to the other tent with Dicko. We decided to jump in the first short line we saw which just so happened to be for a Raspberry Wheat beer. And it wasn't too bad. Kinda fruity (like Gus) but pretty good. And it ended up being the perfect prop for what was a running joke for Dicko and I. Dicko would stop somebody and cheers them and ask if they knew where the Pabst Blue Ribbon/Old English/some other malt liquor line was. They would laugh and we would point to our cups and say we just found the Mad Dog 20/20 line and point to one end of the festival grounds. Dicko and I thought this was hilarious. Somewhere along the way Smoot got shit-faced. BIG time shit-faced. And I also lost track of my bro and cousins. After another Raspberry wheat and my third trip to the port-o-potty I jumped into a short line. After my first taste of their beer I realized why the line was so short. It was fucking terrible. It's name was Rooster. And it tasted like a barnyard smells. Dookalicious.
Somewhere along the way I ran into UFC fighter Ed "Short Fuse" Herman. I went up and said hi, shook his hand and came to the realization that he's an asshole. He thinks he's pretty fucking cool but he was a prick.
I found my cousin Kyle and he took me over to were Matt and T.R. were sitting. They said they were getting hungry so we decided to take off and try to find some grub. We were unable to decide between Sushi or a strip club. My cousin Kyle said his buddy knew of a strip club where you could eat Sushi off of a naked girl. I was intrigued. Kyle made a phone call and we learned that this place was about ten minutes away. After getting lost and finally finding the place about a half hour later we made our way inside. There was nothing posted anywhere about Sushi off of naked girls. I wandered back out the front door and started chatting with the doorman. He was cool as shit and explained that the Naked Sushi deal had to be called in at least four hours beforehand. We were out of luck. We left disappointed but tried another strip club. The Acropolis has some of the best steak and for six bucks who can resist. I figured we would stop there, grab a steak and a beer and then head home. One problem was that the place was packed and it was standing room only. Somebody suggested Hooter's and we were on our way.
Our waitress Amanda was cool as shit. She stood at our table bullshitting and joking with us while we decided what we were eating. Somehow the conversation got turned to the fact that T.R. was a bachelor on his last free weekend night and she said she was going to make it special. After our meal she came up to T.R. with a tank-top and a pair of the famous orange shorts and told him to put it on. There was another bachelor at the table next to us and they were also putting a tank top on him. Out of the other side of the restaurant another bachelor appeared already sporting his orange shorts. They found a fourth bachelor and make them all come up to the front of restaurant where they proceeded to make fools out of them. I had no idea T.R. knew all of the words to YMCA until last night.
After about another twenty minutes of sitting around we decided to start heading home. Somehow T.R. made it out the door with the shorts and tank-top. I think it's one of his deep down dreams to be a Hooter's girl. All in all I think T.R. had a blast.
I'm sure Gus will be posting some great pictures of our weekend here in the very near future.

arrrgh, pirates

I found another great site. OfficePirates Especially funny are the photo gallaries and the captions.

and I changed my profile pic. It's just like my dad in the 70s.

I knew it

Jon is gonna get some. I knew it. It's about time.

Brewfest or Pubcrawl tonight. I am so excited..I wonder if McDonalds across the street sells Screwdrivers since they built where Bumpers used to be. I could really go for a party starter about now.

And I added some more links to fun sites, blogs, and great t-shirt sites to the left. One of these days I will get all my links over from my website, but for now, if you have a good one, leave a comment or email it to me.

I want this one.

I'm getting this one for Burckhardt.

Deja Vu (Or Something)

Wow. You know how sometimes you read something, and it feels like you could've written it. That's how I feel after reading this.
It's like I was reading my own thoughts. That Jake Scott is a genius.

Let our people go!

Activists Protest Beer-Swilling Pigs

Hey, If we wanna drink, don't stop us. And if our friends the pigs want to drink, then don't stop them. Stupid liberals.

And the Xbox360 makes the news

Xbox Live Arcade allows you to download old school games and play them online and compare scores and get achievements for different acomplishments that you can compare how good (i.e. geeky) you are. For instance, I have about 2,500 points. Dicko's brother has about 25,000 points. As soon as Dicko gets a 360, I'm sure it will take him just under an hour or so to get more points then that, but for now, I am totally better at video games than him.

And I will prove it on the moose lodge pac man this weekend. 150k, here I come! My new mission in life. To buy a sit-down Ms. Pac Man to go along with my 80s foosball table. I found eagle distributing where you can get one made, and include Donkey Kong, Galaga, Dig Dug, etc.

Only about $3,000 total with the extra games. I'm gonna start saving now...Also found 949c.com with one for $2,000 plus $200 for a few extra games. WAIT WAIT
I got a card from the Moose Lodge, and the company that services theirs has one for sale with 39 games installed, for $1,150. Who thinks I should buy it?

And, because there are no words to describe how cool this picture is, I will just post it and knight-foundation who I borrowed it from.

Also, with our weekend of frivolity planned, and inspired by Mulgrew's drink til you shit post, I decided to read a few other recent posts. And this awesome one is the best in a long time.

Drink Til You Shit (West Coast)

So this weekend the guys here at NOSE are going to drink until we shit.
Brewfest is in Portland so Smooty and others will be joining Gus and I for a weekend of drunken debauchery.
Friday night we are planning a little warm-up in the way of a Kelso/Longview Bar Crawl. I think we are starting at a bowling alley / lounge right off of I-5 and working our way towards Gus' house throughout the night. I think we had a list of 13-15 bars that we are trying to hit. I am predicting that I will be belligerent by bar 8. And then I will be in black-out mode by bar 11.
Saturday is going to be the real fun as we head south. We are gonna stop in the Couv and enjoy some indoor Go-Kart racing at a little place called HotTrax. The same place where Erik Williamson suffered second degree burns on his arm for resting it on the exhaust. And this was after the track attendant warned us all to "not touch the exhaust or it will burn you". Classic Williamson.
Then as Erik has repeatedly posted, we will make our way down to the Rose City's waterfront and drink until somebody shits. (My money is on Lowell Roemer)

Should be fun!

Dahaka Jr.

I figured out the secret identity of Dahaka Jr. the mystery commenter here at NOSE. It is the one and only Tosh "Anakin" Bailey.
How did I figure this out you may ask?
I was checking my messages on myspace last night and Tosh sent me some pictures of some scantily clad females. After checking where the pic came from I noticed it was saved to an online album of Dahaka Jr.
Nice try Tosh. I just don't understand why you did it. Is it because I make fun of you being extremely hairy?
(Seriously Tosh is so hairy, Bigfoot takes pictures of him.)

I'm One Handsome Sonuvabitch

So I was surfing the internet and came across a little webpage called MyHeritage.com. It looks like this page is for storing a family tree but they have one other cool feature. You submit a photo of your face and it matches it to it's celebrity database to see who has the same face structure as you. I decided to submit a pic of myself and see how it turned out.

Here is the pic I took of myself on my camera phone while I was working. I then submitted it to myheritage.com and anxiously awaited the results. When the results popped up, I was not surprised. I already knew I was handsome.
67% match to Paul Walker (So that's why Jessica Alba won't leave me alone....)
51% match to Jean Claude Van-Damme (and I do know some kung-fu)
47% match to both James Dean and Julio Iglesias and a 45% match to Lleyton Hewitt.

So I decided to try one more pic and see how the results varied. And I would share pic number 2 with you but after inspecting it I noticed I had a booger in my nose. Awesome. I'm thinking I may save that one for Christmas cards this year.
Anyways the results were way different the second time around.
62% match to Kurt Cobain (I'm so fucking ecstatic right now)
59% match to Patrick Swayze (wtf?), 56% match to Denzel Washington (seriously, wtf?), 56% match to Elvis Presley (no comment), 54% match to P. Diddy, 50% match to Scarlett Johansson (she's purdy), 50% match to Bam Margera (It could've been Don Vito), 46% match to Carson Daly

Check it out for yourself. Who's face does yours resemble?

Trading In My Car

Smooty sent this to me and G in my e-mail.

He had hoped to use it to lure in his favorite boy band member Lance Bass now that he is finally OUT, but he will have to settle for luring me and Nate and Dicko this weekend after brewfest. I also would like to point out the amazing similarity between Lance and our beloved Folkestad. You know, the really tall volleyball player from our house who turned down sex with hot chicks in college? Yeahhhh, he's not gay.

Longview Famous?

Once you are on the internet, you are famous right?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longview,_Washington

I love how it has the story of the Green Day song being named after our town. Read it, and Believe it or not #5. The song is called Longview. They first played the song here. And they then named the song Longview. They should not deny. They should accept...how cool it is here.

And plans for this weekend.
  • Brewfest warmup in Portland or Pubcrawl in Longview Friday night (decision still pending), maybe some bowling, maybe some card playing, maybe some hot-tubin. I don't know. I don't know if we'll have enough time.
  • Gokarts and minature golf Saturday on the way to Brewfest for a west coast Drink Til You Shit kind of night, inspired by Mulgrew.
  • Being hungover and playing wiffleball on Sunday

Looks like I'm set. Who's comin with me?

edit: Also, while looking for a good map to make a pubcrawl plan with, I found two interesting things in the longview/kelso phone directory. Did you know you could go to www.ready.gov or call 1-800-BE-READY to learn about potential terrorist threats and how to prepare for them? Yup, there is a message from Tom Ridge right in my phone book. And, on a slightly more useful note, I found a complete list of Washington Golf Courses. Sweet ass sweet.

The joke that got away

Last summer while visting my sister in New Orleans (right before Katrina kicked her out of town) we decided to spend a rediculous amount of money on dinner one night. So we (Bo, Amy, Abby, my sister Heather, and I) asked the bartender at the gay bar we were at (they had a white russian ice cream machine, I shit you not) which place was one of the nicest in New Orleans. So he of course recommended the one his boyfriend works at, called and got us a table, and after sprucing up a little, we were off.

Now I am not sure if he hooked us up with this celebrity sighting or if it was just a freak coincidence, but 10 minutes into the meal I notice that the guy sitting at the table behind my sister looks a lot like Ferris Bueller. In fact, he looks exactly like...holy shit, that's Matthew Broderick! About this same time, Abby notices over my sisters other shoulder that Sarah Jessica Parker (or is it Broderick?) is sitting about 5 feet from her. We proceeded to tell Amy and Bo as discreetly as possible, which was funny because I swear we told Bo, and about 20 minutes later, he says "Oh shit, that's Ferris Bueller." Either he wasn't listening, or he's just really slow. We also then realize that we both only noticed the star that we liked watching and didn't even realize who they were sitting with. Kinda funny, but we went back to eating and drinking and enjoying ourselves, the whole time kinda wondering how many other people in the restaurant knew they were there, but were being cool and not bothering them.

Now the best part about this, is that somehow Heather had no idea the Brodericks were behind her. I had my sister ask the couple behind her if they would take our group's photo. And I think she got to about "Excuse me, would you mind ta...OH MY GOD!" Then proceeded to apologize and turn around to us bursting out in laughter. They thought it was pretty funny also once we explained, and we ended up talking for awhile with the usual "love your movies, love your show, you are great, and funny, and smart, etc." Then we joined them for a drink after dinner, they took us to see the cool penthouse villa they were renting, went to brunch the next morning, and I am planning on co-starring in a buddy movie with Matthew later this year, which should be out in 2007...

Or at least that is what would have happened, if only I had a fucking camera. (I'm still pissed that Bo didn't bring it and probably will be forever.) I came up with the perfect joke, and couldn't try and pull it off because for the first time on the trip Bo didn't have a camera around his neck like a fucking asian tourist. The Broderick's were sitting right next to us, and because we didn't have a camera, all that ended up happening was me smiling and nodding at Matthew as were leaving and they were coming back in after a smoke break. And you know how people always tell you that actors are smaller in person? Holy shit, he has to be like 5'5", tops.

I did get to tell everyone after we left about the great idea I had, and we still had the big laugh at Heather's expense since she never did realize they were there until they went outside to smoke and we told her, but I will always wonder if my life would have been different if I could have pulled off "the joke that got away."

Jon gets some?

Wait, wait, wait...Is Jon finally gonna get the girl? I know some around here think garfield is old and not funny anymore, but I still like the fact that garfield eats and sleeps and abuses the dog and gives his owner shit. Get Fuzzy is funnier and newer, but I still like garfield and wouldn't mind seeing Jon finally tap that vet's ass.

Interesting things that happened yesterday
  • I saw obi-wan-kenobi on Washington Way with a car wash sign trying to help some young girls drum up business for there fundraiser car wash. (including lightsaber, I really wish I was kidding about this one)
  • I tried to call Smoot about it later after a few beers, and he didn't answer.
  • I heard that not one, but THREE bars are for sale in town, all of them pretty good bars, and all of them asking rediculous prices. (Hey Smoot, wanna come to Longview and open a Coug bar?)
  • I set a new record I think on the Pac Man sit down arcade game at the Moose Lodge. 136,960 is probably my best ever, and beat the other high score on the machine by about 80,000. I had people watching me play like I was the fucking pinball wizard.
  • I told the I got screwed over golf story for like the 15th time. Man I can't let shit go.
  • I called Nate to get a beer, but his vagina hurt and he didn't want to go.
  • I had muchos gracias for lunch, muchos gracias later for a snack, taco tuesday for 1st dinner, 2 beers at the star, 3 beers at the moose, wings and fries for second dinner and 2 giant beers at porky's. I feel sorry for whoever uses the restroom after me in about 30 minutes...

How I screwed up/got screwed over

Setting the scene, I shoot in the 80s just about every time I golf. I am a 13 handicap, which I think is good, but means I usually play descent golf, but fuck up a few times just to keep myself from ever getting real good. I seem to have no problem beating all of my friends except Josh, but can’t seem to beat total strangers and normally have to settle for runner-up, or lately one stroke from winning money. It was 80-100 degrees both days this weekend, we were playing from the blue tees, and the pins were placed so that putting was like the anthill hole at a miniature golf course and they were impossible to hit approach shots to. So although I got really early tee times, I was still sweating like Nate in church*, hung over, and really having to concentrate to give myself birdie and par tries.

I butchered a hole on my first day of the tournament, taking a 9 on a par 4, including a bad hop, causing me to have to drop because of an un-hittable lie, topping the ball, then chipping out, then hitting it on, and FUCKING 4-PUTTING. (Basically as bad as it gets without actually losing a ball.) I proceeded to birdie the next hole and go on to save a few putts and only shoot a net one or two over par. Not bad, but only in 4th or 5th in the 2nd net division. This means I need to shoot low 80s the 2nd day in order to win my money back for the tourney, as only the top 5 in each net division get paid. If you read the title of this post, you can probably guess this is where the story gets good/bad.

The 2nd day I am paired up with a 14 and a 17 handicapper that are in 4th or 5th place with me. Shooting within a few strokes of par in the net division should win you money, so all I needed to do was beat one of these guys, or at least shoot low 80s as planned, and I should win $100-300. I start off good, only having a few errant shots and shooting 41 on the front and tying the 14 handicapper. Now all I need to do is shoot 45 or better and I should be in the money. I get another unfriendly lie on the 10th hole as my ball finds thick sand right by the lip, only 20 feet from the cup. In a blinding display of unbelievable skill and luck, I blast the ball out of the sand about 6 inches….into the only 4 foot section of grass near the green that is not mowed. My next chip from Chewbacca’s mane stops short of course, and I three putt from off the green for a triple bogey. As long as I don’t fuck up any more, I should be fine right? I mean, I come back and birdie the next hole, so I am fine right?

Well, that depends on how you look at the 15th hole, and the fact that they don’t make exceptions in the rules of golf for when you get screwed over. I hit my drive a little left along the out of bounds, but fading back into an open spot between some small trees. The three of us get to their balls and hit, but can’t for the life of us find my fucking ball. I know it is not out of bounds. I absolutely know it. A jogger nearby throws a ball to us from the road, and it’s not mine. So where the fuck did my ball go? This is where I get some good advice, and screw myself over by listening to it (or get screwed over depending on how you look at it). The guy who I am down a stroke to says it must be in a tree. (for non golfers, this happens about once or twice in a lifetime…) He says that it couldn’t possibly be further than where his ball is, because he hit it pretty good. Then the other guy who has the 17 handicap, and I need to beat by about 4 strokes in order to win money, pipes in with these words that now haunt my dreams, “I looked up there and didn’t see it.” Well, he has a cart and zoomed ahead to look, we have been searching for 3-4 minutes where it should be, and now another group is waiting. So I have to go back, re-hit, proceed to hit another one OB, then hit in the trees, chip up, make a wonderful saving chip, and then up and down, and get another 9. That is two in the tournament, and my first couple nines all year. What is the big deal you ask? After hitting my 3rd drive up by the green, I decide to walk up the left side to look for my ball on the way to the green. AND I FUCKING FIND IT RIGHT WHERE THE OTHER GUY SAID HE LOOKED. AND IT TAKES ME ALL OF 20 SECONDS TO FIND IT. It is easily 50 yards further than the first guy, that’s why we didn’t find it when we searched. So I get screwed because I hit it over 300 yards? Fuck.

The rules say I have to play the other ball since I already hit it a second time, so listening to those guys costs me at least 3, maybe 4 strokes. I understandably finish the last 3 holes a few over because I am getting over being pissed, and trying not to give up even though I know it cost me a chance to win money. And of course, when all the scores come in, the guy who told me “my ball wasn’t up there” ties for 5th beating me by 2 with a net 147 for the two days. And I win nothing. Now I am not saying I should have wrapped my 5 iron around his neck, but I think I could make a pretty good argument in court if I had…

When Rednecks Win The Lottery

I don't understand why you wouldn't just by a nice RV. Although it would come in handy for bachelor parties...

Miss Universe

This year was REALLY the Miss Universe contest. Because although she may have signed up under Puerto Rico's banner, she looks straight out of Mars Attacks. Look at those chompers. I bet she's chewing on Carbon Dioxide gum so that she can breath just like in the movie...

My version of Nate's story

(Scroll down and read Nate's post below first.)

Friday
Abby and I were invited to dinner at a friend's house Friday night, so did not get invited to bowling. About 11:30-12:00 Abby drunk dialed Nate to tease him that we stole his david hasselhoff refrigerator magnet (long story) and that we were demanding a case of hefeweizen (and a lemon) or he wasn't getting it back. He reminded us that he had vowed to put a bag of shit on our porch by midnight on Friday if it was not returned, which prompted drunk Abby to boobytrap the front porch with a ransom note, and try to convince me that we should stay up and wait for Nate, and possibly even go to his house to prank him somehow. I had signed up for a golf tournament at 8:00 Saturday and Sunday, and did my best to convince her that Nate was probably passed out at home, she had woken him up, and there was no chance in hell he was coming over to shit on our porch. So both days I played golf, I got about 5 hours of sleep and drank too much the night before, which was fun playing from the blue tees and walking 18 holes at 8:00 in the morning in 80-100 degree heat. AWESOME.

Saturday
The wedding was about 105 or so, and not only did it start about 25 minutes late, they did EVERY SINGLE thing that you can possibly do during a wedding, including the unity candle, the seating of parents, the verses read aloud, etc. The only cool thing about this 45 min sweat-fest (after the initial 25 min wait), was the Booth's singing a song for the couple like the partridge family. Very sweet, and Booth's sisters (long haired brothers) and parents are pretty talented singers and musicians. Nate was sweating like he was having sex and it WAS funny, even though most of us were sweating too. The reception was pretty good, considering for some reason there was no RSVPs in the invitations, and therefore there were about 50 people more than could fit in the ballroom at the Monticello. Luckily the families were very generous and had enough food and beer to last for the whole party. Nate bitched out after knocking that old lady out (he has a mean left cross that the old ladies never see coming) and the rest of us were left to drink and dance with Garrett and Irena.

Good weekend.

Being Hungover At Hottest Wedding Ever - Not So Good

So this past Saturday my good buddy Garrett got married. So I thought it would be a good idea to get wasted on Friday night*.
Actually I was planning on taking it easy on Friday but instead ended up shitfaced. The evening started off slowly, just hanging out at my place drinking some beers. Then my buddy Tosh showed up and the pace of the beer drinking picked up. About an hour or so after Tosh showed up, my friend T called me to invite us bowling with her and a couple of her friends. We accepted the invite and headed over to the bowling alley.
While bowling, the beers were going down real easy. We rolled two games and I put down a few of the Bud Light bowling pin bottles. Afterwards we headed over to T's house for a little chat with the coach. This is were the night gets blurry for me. I remember sitting on the couch watching something, but shortly thereafter was unconscious. T woke me up a little later and took me to my place.
I woke up Saturday morning to the miserable heat. Sometime during the morning, the power at my house went out. So my A/C (which is currently fucked up and doesn't work worth a shit) and my fans were all dead. This was just great for the hangover that I had acquired. Adding to my misery was the fact that my car was in my garage and I couldn't get it out due to the old-ass electric garage-door opener. So I was stuck home in the hell-like conditions.
After sitting around for about a hour, the power came back on. I turned on some tunes, showered and head out to run some errands. I stopped for lunch then head home and watched a movie while trying to stay cool. I know I said this earlier, but if you haven't seen Grandma's Boy yet, you should. Right Now. Seriously go watch it. Go.
My friend Val agreed to be my date for the wedding, and she called right as the movie was ending so I went and picked her up. I got to her apartment building and called her as I was turning around in her parking lot. She met me in the parking lot and looked absolutely amazing.
We arrived at the church about fifteen minutes before the ceremony was set to begin. And it was HOT. We waited in the lobby for some other friends to join us and visited with everybody while trying to stay cool. Everybody showed up and we were seated. By the time the wedding got started, I swear it was over 105 in that church. I was sweating profusely and thought that I might get ill. I was feeling like I might pass out from heat stroke. I looked over at Val and she laughed at me. Seated next to her were Erik and Abby, and Erik laughed at me too. I struggled but I made it through the wedding.
After the wedding I took Val to pick up her car (she had to work at 6 the next morning) and she followed me to my house to drop my car off. We stopped by Phil's house on the way to the reception and I played a game of 3 man with Phil, Veronica, Sara, Timmy, Jim and Shannon. After a couple of beers we were off to the reception.
As we were walking in to the hotel lobby were the reception was taking place, we could see a line coming out of the ballroom. It was the line for the food and it looked like about a fifteen minute wait. We skipped that and made our way into the ballroom to try to find a seat. I grabbed a beer and we wondered around looking for a table. We found the Guttormsens sitting at a full table, passed a couple of other friends sitting at another full table and finally got seated near the bride's family.
Val and I talked for a while and then noticed that the line for the food had somewhat died down. I left my sunglasses and beer on the table to show that somebody was sitting there and we went and took our place at the end of the line. At the end of the line while I was at the prime rib station, I glanced at our table and noticed an older lady sitting there. WTF? So I walked back over to our table and smacked the lady in the forehead with an elbow which knocked her to the floor. I dropped another elbow on her, knocking her out and pulled her into the coat check. That'll teach that bitch for taking my seat.
Actually we just made room for her to sit with us and ate our food. After eating I had a couple of more beers, some Crown that Erik slipped to me in a flask and even danced a little bit. Val left a little early since she had to work in the morning. I hung out a little longer, drinking another beer or so, and got a ride home from my buddy Jim.
The next thing I know, I'm waking up on my couch at 5 in the morning. What a wonderful evening.

Congratulations Garrett and Irina. May you live a long and happy life together.

Thought for a hot day

Thought for a hot day:

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.
-Dave Barry

Man I am gonna drink some beer in a few hours. It is nice and cool at work, but it is 95-100 degrees outside and I have a feeling my grundo will be in peril without a beer or six to cool me down.

Smoot=Private Pile

Mr. & Mrs. G Jumped The Shark

The Atheist And The Bear

An atheist was taking a walk through the woods.
"What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!" he said to himself.
As he continued walking alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes.
Turning to look, he saw a 7 foot grizzly charging towards him.
He ran as fast as he could up the path, looking over his shoulder he saw that the bear was closing in on him.
His heart was pumping frantically and he tried to run even faster.
He tripped and fell on the ground.
He rolled over to pick himself up but saw the bear raising his paw to take a swipe at him.

At that instant the atheist cried out: "Oh my God....!"

Time stopped.

The bear froze.

The forest was silent.

It was then that a bright light shone upon the man and a voice came out of the sky saying: "You deny my existence for all of these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to a cosmic accident.
Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament?
Am I to count you as a believer?"

The atheist looked directly into the light and said: "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps, could you make the BEAR a Christian?"

"Very well," said the voice.

The light went out, and the sounds of the forest resumed.

And then the bear lowered his paw, bowed his head and spoke:

"Lord, bless this food which I am about to receive and for which I am truly thankful, Amen. "

Have a great weekend everybody!

New Readers

Us here at NOSE have noticed some new readers here in the last couple of weeks and some new people commenting. We would just like to thank you all for checking out what we like to think is funny. It's nice being able to click on somebody's name and check out their blogs also.
All that being said, who the hell is Dahaka Jr.? Do we know you or do you just think the page is funny? If you could let us know that would be great, cause the three of us have a huge wager involving many ice-cold beverages on your identity.

Thanks again for keeping it real.

And if you are new to the site, you should definitely check out the Facts About Gus posts from a couple of weeks ago.

Teabag's Getting Married

So my buddy Garrett is going to get married this weekend. It should be a terrific ceremony and a lovely reception will follow. We are all so proud of him.
You see, Garrett has never really been a "ladies man". With a nickname of 'Teabag' it isn't hard to understand why.
Garrett spent many a night crying in his room and masterbating furiously. Just look at the size of his arms. He's never lifted weights a day in his life. Those muscles are from years and years of self-pleasuring.
And then he met Mrs. Right. And they are happy. Very, very happy. Because he keeps her doped up on Rohypnol. Lots and lots of Rohypnol.
So the guys here at NOSE would like to thank the fine makers of Rohypnol, for helping our pal Garrett get a wife. Keep up the great work!

Comments and Broken Lizard

It's nice to see our way-too-often posting is paying off with a few new commentors.
And thanks to our newest fan reelfanatic for posting about Broken Lizard’s new movie coming out, Beerfest. This movie looks awesome and focuses on the broken lizard crew (new characters of course) visiting Germany's Oktoberfest and finding out about a secret beer drinking olympics. After being humiliated, they spend the next year training (drinking) to prepare to win (drink more) next year, and much hillarity (more drinking) ensues. I can't wait to see this.

Also, the official site led me to looking at their myspace site, and upon arriving, I pondered the question, “What the fuck is 'Puddle Cruiser' and why haven’t I heard of this movie or Beerfest, which comes out in August?” I guess it came out before Super Troopers, and isn’t that good, but anyone that has it that wants to let me borrow it and judge for myself, let me know.

And because I am wondering if anyone signs up for this kind of crap, I will treat you to another of True.com's ads that popped up on myspace when I went there.

Crazy Girl #3 (part 1 of 2)

I'm just finishing my second beer when she walks in with her friends. She is absolutely amazing. Completely stunning. One of the girls in her group waves at my buddy Ed, who I'm sitting with at the table.
"Who's that?" I ask Ed.
"That's Trish*" responds Ed as he waves back at her.
"No, not her" I say "the blonde..." (have I mentioned my weakness for blondes?)
"I dunno" he tells me.
So we sit at our table finishing our next beer and Trish waves us over. Cha-ching! Ed and I make our way to their table and I just so happen to end up right next to the hottie.
"Hi, I'm Molly*. You look familiar, where do I know you from?" says the hottie.
"I'm Nate. You look familiar too." I lie (I have no idea who this girl is).
So Molly and I sit their and talk for a while. She tells me that she is just getting out of a really bad relationship. I tell her that I just got out of one a couple of months ago.
After about fifteen minutes, it's clear that she digs me. I buy her a drink, we play some tunes on the jukebox and sit around flirting shamelessly with each other.
"Let's go to the Maltese" one of her friends says. Now me personally, I can't stand the Maltese. It's a little hole-in-the-wall tavern that somehow has gotten cool. But they insist on going so Ed and I hop into his Jeep and follow Trish and Molly over to the Maltese. We pull into the parking spot next to them and accompany them into this fine drinking establishment.
Once inside we find a table with some more of their friends right inside the door. One added bonus is that it's Karaoke night! Awesome. I decide against breaking out my superior Karaoke skills and instead sit next to Molly, bullshitting, flirting and drinking beer. After about another hour or so Ed and I decide to head home (it was a work-night) but before we leave I exchange numbers with Molly.
A couple of days later Molly calls while I'm bowling in the league I used to play in (Franks and Beans rule!). I am super excited as we make plans to meet up for a drink after I'm done. She is at Porky's with Trish. Trish is asking were Ed is, and requests that I bring him to Porky's with me. Since Ed was also on my bowling team, this is not a problem. We finish bowling and head over to Porky's.
We walk in and find a seat with the ladies. Molly is drunk. She scoots in close to me and starts telling me how much fun she had the other night. We flirt back and forth for a while when somebody decides we should go to the Silver Star. Ed and I agree and follow the girls over to the Silver Star. Somebody needs some smokes (either Trish or Ed) so we make a pit-stop at AM/PM. At this point, Molly wanders over to the passenger seat of Ed's car (where I'm sitting) opens the door, crawls up onto my lap and starts kissing me.
We must've kissed for a couple of minutes because neither of us heard Ed get back into his car. The sound of Ed's car door closing snaps Molly back to reality. She kind of laughs and slides out of Ed's Jeep on her way back over to Trish's car.
We stop by the Star and sit around drinking beers. After a hour or so we all decide to head back to my place (Yahtzee!).
So we're sitting at my place and somehow Molly and I end up in my bedroom. After a little fooling around, she sits up and say "I have to go home" out of nowhere.
"Okay, do you want me to take you home?"
"I need to talk to Trish."
She jumps up, gets dressed and goes and assaults Trish. From the looks of it, if she would have waited any longer Ed may have eaten Trish's face off. She grabs Trish and pulls her outside to talk. Ed looks devastated.
After a couple of minutes they come inside. Molly tells me that she needs to go home and Trish is going to take her. Trish asks if we want to go along for the ride, and we accept. We take Molly home and drop her off then return to my house where I promptly pass the fluck out.
I tried calling Molly for a couple of days after that, until I hear from Trish that she got back together with her boyfriend. The same boyfriend that she said treats her like shit. Awesome.

Have I Mentioned How Much I Love Youtube?

Seriously. They have everything on that mofo. Set back and relax. You are in for a treat. I present to you, the Big He-Bowski. Enjoy.

A little local news

At the Go 4th celebration in Longview, and the Rainier Days in the Park, the committees sell buttons in order to raise money to pay for the fireworks and various other costs. If you bought a button, and can never find the winning numbers in the paper, here are two links.

The first to longview/kelso.com that has the winning numbers and 2nd redraw (a good sign that this news is hard to find is if the grand prize is still unclaimed), so if you have a button and want a motorcycle or other unclaimed prize, check your numbers 1st drawing. Or if you want to see if you would have won had you checked your number in time, check 2nd drawing.

And in a few days, they should post the Rainier button winners. They have a way better sales team as they require you to buy a button to get into the beer gardens, so maybe Nate and I have a chance of winning...

Pics and headbutts

No, no mexico pics yet, but I did see a pic of Star Wars, and I can't resist star wars, so you get to see it too. Who here thinks Han Solo is still the coolest Mo-Fo in movies?

And going back through some papers I missed over vacation, I found a couple great golf cartoons in the comics with this dilbert comic being the best one by far. Sorry it's too large to fit on here, so just go check it out. A beer helmet for golfing is ingenious.

Also, if you never read the dilbert blog, and know anything about the ending to the world cup this year, you have to read Scott Adam's take on why one of the best players in the world might have possibly decided to head butt another player, possibly costing his team the world cup. headbutter

World Fighting Alliance

Everybody, you need to get the World Fighting Alliance Pay-Per-View on July 22nd to see my buddy Jason "Mayhem" Miller kick some fools ass. He is the shit. I met him in Las Vegas at UFC 54 during the weigh-ins. There are some other great fights on the card and it will definitely be worth your money. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will be fighting and Bas Rutten will be fighting Kimo. Check it out.
UPDATE

Here is another pic I found of Mayhem against GSP. Despite being bloody as all hell, he finished the fight. What a tough SOB!

Good Fucking Beer

I'm serious about Skinny Dip being the official beer of Summer. I am consuming some right now before I head out to the Beer Gardens with Gus and it's defuckinglicious. Have a great Saturday night. Seacrest out.

Better than the Sears Catalog

I know that title is a tired joke by Jeff Foxworthy, but as long as we are perverts around here, I thought I would also give a thanks to the creator of Victoria's Secret and their catalog and website. Searching for a suitable picture for the blog, I learned that these panties pictured are called Tangas. And damnit if they aren't the best thing to come out of the underwear industry since bikini briefs and thongs...And having Adriana Lima on the covers and website can't be hurting sales...damn.
And, going to myspace off the http://www.1051thebuzz.com/ website I was treated to another true ad. Are they expecting to get any females on this site, or just guys?
And speaking of dating, Nate added a link to another fun blog, singleinscottsdale chronic(what)ling the adventures of single life in scottsdale.

And, feeling bad about living in a small town and not making as much as your big town buddies? Try this salary comparison calculator and feel better about yourself.

phatphree and true

I got a good article from Nate from the thephatphree, which reminded me I hadn't been to the site or checked out their t-shirts recently. The site and this movie quoting article are worth a look if you haven't been there. The best shirt by far is featured here.

As for more interesting stuff than just linking to someone's site that is better than mine...sorry, I got nothing.

I did however just remember that I watched Nate fall asleep towards the end of 'Grandma's Boy' last night. It was pretty funny because he was smoking before he fell asleep, than kind of jumped when his head nodded, and went right back to smoking. Almost like he was sleep-smoking. Safer in the short-run than sleep-walking, but probably not in the long run...

Also, another thing that I have noticed this year (which has nothing to do with the fact I was just talking about Nate) is ads on websites for true.com, which is a singles dating site. I have not gotten further than the homepage, as I am forbidden from checking the site out as it is fraud to register on the site if you are married or a criminal (nice that those two groups of people are lumped together...). But, I am thankful for the ads none-the-less, because they do a very good job of supplying a once a day hot-chick-fix. If you get on hotmail, or myspace, or yahoo, or any of the good blogs or humor sites out there, (or the other 20 millions sites that have ads and pop-ups), you have probably seen one of their ads. I would like to commend their advertising department. While they don't really have a hard job, they do a good job and probably don't get many thanks besides models sleeping with them, handjobs, whip-cream fights, etc. So thanks.

Co-workers, iPods, Beer Gardens, Wiffleball, Bachelor Parties, Grandma's Boy

You know what's nice? When that one person that you can't stand at work goes on vacation. The guy that sits right across from me is an asshole. And he knows it. Back in the late 70's-early 80's I guess he was training to be an Olympic wrestler. And he would have made it, but he blew out both of his knees. So after that he started drinking and getting into bar fights. From some of the stories other people have told me, he is one bad mamma-jamma. So he's a prick. And I can't stand him. So not having to deal with him today is going to make my life so much more pleasant.

I seriously cannot believe how much I love my iPod. If you are a serious music fan and do not have some sort of mp3 player yet, you are missing the boat. I talked my buddy Go-Go into getting an iPod and she loves it. Lately I have been downloading new music like it's going outta style. One new band that I've been digging is Office. Check them out if you're down with some light, feel-good, Summer tunes.
Outkast's "Bombs over Baghdad" has got to be one of my top five all time favorite songs.

This weekend Rainier, the small city across the Columbia River from Longview, is having their annual 'Days in the Park' Celebration. They have a little Carnival type thing with a Flea Market, Fireworks and most importantly a BEER GARDEN. So you know what my plans are gonna be for Saturday night. Getting drunk on cheap beer and watching some fireworks. I'm pretty sure Gus is going with me and I think our buddy Money Mike is going to be in town from Seattle so it should be fun. I was hoping Smooty was gonna head down here and be my wingman, but he told me he has a yeast infection and won't be able to make it.

On Sunday a 'semi-pro' (as funny as that sounds) wiffleball team from Puyullap is coming down to challenge a team of guys from the wiffleball league. This team has played in national tournaments and if I remember right they finished top five in the nation last year. It'll be interesting to see how we stack up against a 'semi-pro' team. I think Gus is gonna play, along with Matt Jones of Jackmove and Jim Hewey and Brian Eyer from the Brewers. We should be able to compete with them with that lineup. Wish us luck.

So my little brother is getting married on August 4th (I don't know why he picked Friday). And he informed me last week that I am in the wedding. Pretty cool. I'm not the best man though, as my record in that department is not too good. I've been best man twice in the past, both ending in divorce. Both marriages together lasted shorter than five years. So for my little brother's wedding, my cousin is gonna take care of the best man duties. The one duty I have is planning the bachelor party. This is one area of expertise for me. I know how to throw one hell of a bachelor party. If you don't believe me ask Josh "the Wookiie" Burckhardt, he'll tell ya. So for my little brothers I am planning on taking him and his buddies to Vancouver to a indoor Go-Kart place called HOT-Tracks (or some shit) to start the evening off. After that it'll be bar-hopping through Vancouver and Portland. I am gonna be the designated driver, so my goal is to get my little bro wasted but home safely. He's in for a terrible hangover. It's gonna be fun.

Tonight I plan on sitting on my couch and watching Grandma's Boy. I watched it last night with Gus and my roomie, but after some beers and a little chat with the coach I don't really remember all of the movie. I do remember it was pretty fucking funny though. I figured I would take it easy tonight because I am going to drink like a fish tomorrow.

Believe it or Not vol. 4

Todd decided to take up Skydiving last year. He had gone up with a group a few times, and done all the practicing, but still had yet to jump out of a plane. He finally decided to take a private lesson and get over his fear and just do it, and signed up for an early morning flight.

He was up to jump height when the instructor came out of the cockpit, closed the door, and said "Todd, there a few things I should have told you before we came up."
"First, I am a 6th degree black belt."
"Second, I am a raging homosexual."
"Third, you have two choices."

"Either you jump, or I am using you to satisfy my sexual desires."

Todd is telling me this story a few months later, and as I am laughing, I say "No way..so did you jump?"

and he says,

"Yeah, a little at first..."

Pirates

I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest last night. And it was pretty f'in good. Nice and loud, with lots of explosions and chases and fighting and improbably stunts that you would expect from a sequel to the first installment. And when I say installment, I mean that you know there will be a 3rd one, because the second one is breaking sales records and last night was almost a week after it came out and both screens were sold out again, and this is in little ol Longview. The pirates and special effects were cool. There were actually a lot of people from the first movie that were back, especially strange because I thought some of them were dead. It's pretty safe for kids, but with a few awesome references and startling moments to keep adults entertained.

And of course there is Kiera Knightly and plenty of action and monsters for the dudes, and Orlando and Johnny for the ladies, and a midget pirate for Smoot, so everyone has someone to drool over.

Overall rating - A. One of the best of the year, and I'm glad I went to see it. I can't wait for the next one. And make sure to stay til the end for the sweet ending....

Math Problem

You are driving in a car at a constant speed.
On your left side is a valley and on your right side is a fire engine traveling at the same speed as you.
In front of you is a galloping pig, which is the same size as your car, and you cannot overtake it.
Behind you is a helicopter flying at ground level.
Both the giant pig and the helicopter are also traveling at the same speed as you.
What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?
(Try to figure it out before scrolling down for answer)

Get off the children's "Merry-Go-Round", you're drunk.

Condom Shopping

The other night I was in a long line at Target. As I got to the register I realized that he had forgotten to get condoms, so I asked the checkout girl if she could have some brought up to the register.
She asked, "What size condoms?"
I replied that I didn't know.
She asked me to drop my pants. I did. She reached over the counter, grabbed hold of "Rufus" and called over the intercom, "One box of large condoms, Register 5."
Erik Guttormsen was the next man in line thought this was interesting, and like most of us, was up for a cheap thrill.
When he got up to the register, he told the checker that he too had forgotten to get condoms, and asked if she could have some brought to the register for him.
She asked him what size, and he stated that he didn't know.
She asked him to drop his pants. He did. She gave him a quick feel, picked up the intercom and said, "One box of medium-sized condoms, Register 5."
A few customers back was Todd Smoot. He thought what he had seen was way too cool. He had never had any type of sexual contact with a live female, so he thought this was his chance.
When he got to the register he told the checker he needed some condoms.
She asked him what size and he said he didn't know. She asked him to drop his pants and he did.
She reached over the counter, gave him a quick squeeze, then picked up the intercom and said...

"Cleanup, Register 5."

other blogs

Here is a great example of why it is fun to read other people's blogs.
thedailydump:top-one-most-embarrassing-moment
Any story about farting usually has my full attention, right up until I have to minimize it for a few moments so that I don't laugh too loudly at work. The daily dump is a good blog.

and don't miss the last couple posts and crazy bitch stories below...

Believe it or Not Vol 3

A theory exists that the word 'cocktail' originated from an old practice of bartenders dumping leftover liquors from drinks into a ceramic container shaped like a rooster, and you could get cheap drinks from a tap set in the tail of the rooster; hence these drinks were called 'cock's tail'.

Believe it or Not.

Also, In case the Go 3rd celebration (drinking at the beer gardens on the 1st in Longview, hitting golf balls at the floating green and listening to live music the 2nd-4th, BBQ the 2nd-4th at my house, playing four square, and drinking while watching the town's firworks show from my backyard) won't hold you over until the Portland Brewers Fest at the end of July, there is Rainier Days in the Park
The beer garden in Rainier is much more ambitious than Longview's, running:
Thursday: 6 p.m.-12 a.m.
Friday: 6 p.m.-1 a.m.
Saturday: Noon-1 a.m

With plans for going golfing both days, drinking at night, and the weather supposed to be in the 80's, I think I have this weekend pretty well mapped out. Smoot you or any other Seattle-ites are welcome to come down.

Crazy Girls #2

(thanks to Aaron for a few reader contributions)

High School...There we are on a nice sunny day in Longview, throwing a football around in the parking lot after school when I look up and see a black camaro (yeah... I know she drove a camaro, at least it didn't have T-Tops). She had backed out of the parking spot she was in and started revving the engine like she was in some kind of race... turns out she had seen me instead. She gunned it and what did I do???? I just stood there like an idiot and didn't move until she slammed on the brakes and did a four wheel skid and only stopped when she tapped my kneecaps with her bumper... At that point I gave her the finger and walked away. What a great day....

College year 1.... was dating a girl who was a lot of fun at specific times of the day... or night actually. But the rest of the time she was just a tad psycho... She liked to throw things at me and try to beat me up, it didn't work very well nor last very long because I dumped her ass. Of course, I should have known that when I go out with a bunch of co-workers (during the summer) the day I told her to stay the fuck away from me... who would be at my house in the driveway waiting for me when I got home at 2 in the morning???? Cukoo.....

I'll think a little more and get you some others later today...

Crazy Girl #1

This story happened about two years ago. I was single at the time and hitting the bar on a pretty regular basis.
So I am sitting at the Silver Star enjoying some tacos (it was a Tuesday) with a couple of friends. A couple of tables over I notice a girl that works at my bank. The guys I am with know her and wave her on over to the table. She wanders over and leaves her friend by herself at their table. We bullshit a little bit and I ask her what the deal is with her friend. "She's single" she replies.
I wander over to their table and sit down next to the single chick, we'll call her "Liz", and introduce myself. If you know me, you understand how awkward this is for me. I am not known for approaching girls. I usually wait until I know they are interested in me to make a move.
Anyways Liz and I start bullshitting and it seems like we hit it off. I invite her over to our table, she accepts, and we all sit around drinking beer and bullshitting.
A while later my buddies are ready to go. We are all gonna go to my house and drink a little bit more beer and hang out. So Liz and I exchange numbers and I'm on my way. I get home from the Star and not fifteen minutes later, my phone rings. You guessed it, Liz.
She tells me it was nice meeting me and says that they are heading to another bar in town if I'm interested in joining them. I tell them that I'm hanging out with my buddies, but they are more than welcome to come hang out. She is on that shit fast. They were seriously at my house in like ten minutes.
Liz and I bullshit for a while and make plans to go to dinner and maybe see a movie on Friday. After drinking a couple more beers, my buddies all start heading home. Liz and her friend decide that they are gonna go to and I walked them out to their car. Liz and I kiss a little, nothing major.
The next day I'm at work and Liz calls. Wants to make sure we are still on for Friday. Seeing as we just made the plans the night before, I assure her that we are still on. She says cool and chats a little longer before hanging up.
Later on that night, Liz calls again. I like it when a girl is aggressive and all, but shit, I just met this chick. Red flags start popping up.
Thursday, I'm at work and my phone rings. You guessed it, Liz. I don't answer and let it go to voicemail. Later on when I check my messages, I hear a frantic Liz worrying that I've changed my mind about Friday night. More red flags pop up.
After calling her back and chatting with her a while, she mellows out. We bullshit and I ask her how her day was. Out of nowhere she asks if it would be okay if her mom went to dinner with us on Friday. What the fuck? I just met you on Tuesday. She tells me she's told her mom all about me and her mom wants to meet me. You have no idea how much this freaked me out.
I tell her that I'm not quite ready to meet her mom yet (we just fucking met!) and tell her we should just rent a movie and hang out at my place. She is totally down to just hanging out by ourselves.
So she comes over Friday and we eat some dinner and watch a movie. I'm not sure if she's too aggressive or what, but I have decided I don't want to see her anymore. If you know me you know that I am a bit of a pacifist. I am one that tries to avoid confrontation when possible. So instead of telling Liz that I'm not interested I just plan on not calling her and not answering her calls. We finish our movie and I tell her I'm tired. I walk her to the car (do not give her a kiss) and she was on her way.
I left and met my friend Garrett for some beers.
The next morning, I am hung-over. My phone rings at ten in the morning waking me up. Guess who it is? I don't answer and roll over, trying to fall back asleep. Fifteen minutes later my phone rings again. This goes on for about two and a half hours.
Finally, I answer the phone. "Where have you been?"
"I'm hungover and I'm sleeping, I will talk to you later" I tell her.
"When?"
"I don't know........later".
"I thought you were going to bed cause you were tired, why are you hung-over?"
My response to that was the phone hanging up in her ear. You're not my girlfriend, don't guilt-trip me.
My phone rings right back immediately.
I don't answer.
It keeps on ringing, over and over and over for a good half-hour.
My phone finally quits ringing which is great. What is really bad is that Liz comes pulling into my driveway right after my phone quit ringing.
I meet her at the door and tell her that she needs to leave me the fuck alone. Do not come up to my house (especially when you're not invited), don't call, leave me alone. She cried. A lot.
I felt a little bad for about two seconds until I remember that I just met this girl four days ago. If I would've let it slide anymore it would've ended way worse. Remember that all that happened with this girl is a kiss. I'm scared to think what would've happened, had I actually slept with her.

Mmmmmm...... Tacos

Last night, Gus and I headed over to a local bar for some tacos. Every Tuesday the Silver Star has a taco special. Two tacos for one buck is a hell of a deal. I only ate four of them. Plus, they serve alcohol so that's good.
I stopped by and picked up G around 6:30 and we headed to the Star. Our buddy Craig, who we haven't seen in a long time, is in town for a couple of weeks so he came and met us. Craig's in the Navy and stationed in Florida so it was nice to hang out and bullshit with him. Aside from being a seamen, it sounds like Florida is treating him well.
A little while later Mrs. G-Dizzle and the head coach that she coaches with stopped by and enjoyed a little Hefeweizen with us.
Which brings me to point number 3, Hefeweizen is good. Real good.

Cool with it

"It's okay Gene-O, my parents are cool with it."
